Efficiency & stewardship in communication
In this issue’s Insight, Executive Director John Bueno shared that AG World Missions is showing great care in being
good stewards of the funds people give sacrificially to the cause of World
Missions. Wherever possible, we are cutting back on travel, limiting meetings
and reducing special projects. Another measure we have been compelled to take
is reducing the number of issues of the World Missions Edition of Today’s
Pentecostal Evangel.
For more than 10 years we have enjoyed a wonderful partnership
with the Evangel. Merging Mountain Movers with the Evangel to highlight World
Missions the first Sunday of every month was a very beneficial venture between
AG World Missions, Today’s Pentecostal Evangel and Gospel Publishing House. It resulted in both greater efficiency
and greater effectiveness.
But the hard realities of budgetary constraints clearly
indicate that we cannot continue to publish 12 issues each year. During the
summer months — June, July, August — the first Sunday of each month
will no longer feature a World Missions Edition. We will resume again in
September and continue to publish nine issues a year. These three summer issues
will now be sponsored by Convoy of Hope, AG World Missions’ primary partner in
relief efforts and evangelistic compassion outreaches.
I recently accompanied Regional Director Omar Beiler to
India, in prep-aration for the September issue on the Eurasia region. It will
be an inspiring and provocative look at the area with the largest population,
the most unreached people groups and some of the greatest challenges. But you
will also find that God’s Spirit is moving in incredible ways to expand the
kingdom of our Lord.
Thank you for being a faithful reader of the World Missions
Edition. Be looking for the exciting issue on Eurasia the first Sunday in
September.
